I recently took a part-time job at an employment counselling centre helping folks with barriers to employment get back into the labour market. I should be on your retired list. I have consulted about your enquiry. Please consider this a response to both of your emails sent to NSRP on November 23. If undertaking this work while using the identifier of psychologist, it would be important that the public is not given the impression that you are still registered to practice with NSRP. Adding the qualifier (Retired) would be appropriate; however, it would not be in keeping with the Act for an individual to use “R.Psych.” or “Registered” when they are no longer registered with the NSRP. The best option in the circumstances would be to use the qualifier (Retired) and to avoid use of the abbreviation “R.Psych.” and the word “Registered”.
