I had a call from Charles is he looking for a document that says he is on the CR. I told him that we do not have a certificate or doc on this. He is looking to become registered with Teledoc. And they are looking for something. I told him I would see if we could provide him with a letter that would say he is currently on the Courtesy Registry as of January 1, 2021.

Are you ok with this and should I draft something up for your signature?PS -he is going to apply to become fully registered in NS as well.

Can you advise him the good news is that NSRP no longer requires registration (as of September 29, 2021) If he just wants to practice via telepsychology and he does not want to practice in-person? If he wants to do telepsychology only then he does not have to get registered with us and could save time and some money on the fees.

Thanks for checking. Yes, I still think the response is appropriate here and future cases regarding telepsychology, so hoping to have it added in the FAQs for other folks who have requested Courtesy Registration in the past.

Registration in NS wouldn’t do him any good if he wants to provide telepsychology in more places than NS. And it’s not really up to Teledoc on the registration piece, as each provincial regulator can set their own requirements. Teledoc is likely unaware of the change in NS as it is pretty recent, and I think right now it would just be NS and Quebec that allow it so they would not have expected it to be allowed. He could certainly be advised to share this information / URLS with Teledoc to ensure they understand requirements in NS.

I think if we go along with this we will perpetuate a lot of wasted money in fees and time to go for registration when it is no longer needed. We will have to monitor but good to provide this info to him.
