REGULATING PSYCHOLOGISTS IN NOVA SCOTIA SINCE 1980

I am a provisionally registered clinical psychologist in Newfoundland and I work in a mental health and addictions program. One of the virtual groups that our program runs has a client who is temporarily based in Nova Scotia and would like to continue participating in our group while they are in NS.

Could you please provide me with some information regarding how to register as a psychologist with NSBEP so I can provide virtual services to this client while they are in NS? I am aware that I probably won’t be allowed to apply for registration in NS while I’m still only provisionally registered in NL, but it would still be helpful to know the process for future reference, as I am hoping to be fully registered in NL within the next month.

Not typical but we can and have done it sometimes with the MOU. She can do so if we can she can check with her NL NSRP Supervisor and make sure they are okay providing supervision of the case. If so, they should confirm the NL NSRP Supervisor is okay providing supervision and also provide that psychologist’s info, then we can handle like we did in other cases of provisional registrants with the MOU.
