To answer your question regarding telepsychology for the virtual group, you would first need to check with your Supervisor in Ontario and make sure they are okay providing supervision of your work in this case. This is because NSRP can only authorize those who are registered with another regulatory body in psychology and you would be essentially working and providing services under their registration, as is the case when you are providing service in Ontario at this time. If your supervisor is fine with this supervising arrangement extending to this work in NS, please have them send an email confirming to us that they are okay providing supervision and have them provide the following information to us: Registration Number, Jurisdiction of Registration, and Contact Information.

I am currently seeing a client in Ontario who is in our Comprehensive DBT outpatient program who plans to move to Nova Scotia in September for school. This client has waited several months for our program and now that she is enrolled would like to finish the program virtually from Nova Scotia (expected finish date January 2022). For me to continue to see this client I would need permission from your registration body to provide her with psychological services out of Ontario until she completes our program. I do feel given this clients needs at this point in time along with long waitlists for DBT services, it is in her best interest to carry out completing this program while going to school in Nova Scotia (if possible). Our program includes weekly individual therapy and skills group weekly which are all currently being done from secure virtual platforms.
Should you need anymore information to decide on if this would be ok for my client who plans to move to Nova Scotia, I would be happy to provide answers to questions.
