I am looking for some clarification on practicing privately while on the candidate register. Are candidates allowed to start a private practice withnanother fully registered psychologist? I know that as a candidate I cannotnpractice independently but could I incorporate a private practice with a registered psychologist? Or could I incorporate a private practice myself and hire a fully registered psychologist to work with me? Any specificnguidelines or additional information would be much appreciated.

To answer your question, as you are not permitted to engage in your ownnindependent practice work during the period of candidacy, or incorporate your own solo practice, Candidatenregistrants can be co-owners with a registered psychologist, but they would need to have workplace supervision available to them, in addition to their NSRP supervisor.

You should name this registered psychologist who can provide workplacensupervision and consultation. It would also be important to have a plan in the event that the registered psychologist left the practice/partnership, as otherwise it would become an independent practice of a candidate.
