REGULATING PSYCHOLOGISTS IN NOVA SCOTIA SINCE 1980

I am writing to inquire about an online psychology course I have been researching through ICS Canada. There is an adult course and a children’s psychology course and I’m wondering if these diplomas would be recognized or if I would need additional training to be accredited.

To answer your question, the Nova Scotia Regulator of Psychology only examines educational degree programs in relation to one being able to gain registration as a psychologist in the province of Nova Scotia. We do not have other registration categories than psychologist.

In this regard we would be looking at the minimum of a master’s degree in psychology and would therefore be unable to recognize this credential for the purposes of qualifying one for registration as a psychologist in NS.
