REGULATING PSYCHOLOGISTS IN NOVA SCOTIA SINCE 1980

If a psychologist registered in NS has a client and they are seeing them via telepsychology. During the session the psychologist notices a different background and the client says “oh I went home to NB for a visit”. Should the psychologist send their registration number and contact information for a one off visit.

Is there any criteria around the number of days or number of times a client go to an Atlantic province which triggers notifying the province involved?

Yes they should still send notification to NB after the fact and just explain what happened. It would not be the first time this happened to a psychologist, This is not an onerous process with the MOU in place. By the same amount of time spent contacting NSRP, the email could have been sent to NB.
