REGULATING PSYCHOLOGISTS IN NOVA SCOTIA SINCE 1980

I’m in the process of applying to masters programs to register in Nova Scotia as a psychologist.

I’m looking at a program that is offered in the US. It’s located at University of Western States and the program is Master of Science in Clinical Mental Health Counselling program. If I was to complete this program would it allow me to register as a psychologist in Nova Scotia?

To answer your question, we have had a look at the Master of Science in Clinical Mental Health Counselling program at University of Western States and unfortunately this is a counselling program and not a psychology programnAs well, since this program is 100% online, it does not meet the residency requirements.

In this regard, I have provided below the criteria and registration requirements that one would need to follow to become registered with the NSRP. These have been prepared for potential registrants. In your circumstances, you might consider checking with the Nova Scotia College of Counselling Therapists for registration eligibility. The College of Counselling Therapists is the provincial governing body for counselling therapy (URL provided below).
