My only other question is if they intend to change this structure in the coming years. For example, I will be applying at Acadia for the MSc Program. In the event I am accepted and move forward, and then part way through my studies they change the requirements, would I realistically be protected from this change or would they just switch things up without supporting us?

That’s a good question. Master’s programs do not have the same accreditation requirements that CPA accredited programs have and could change their program. This is why NSRP is cautious about commenting on programs that are outside of Atlantic Canada and not CPA accredited. In Atlantic Canada, programs are generally aware of and want to ensure that their graduates will be able to gain registration in the local jurisdictions. We would like to think the programs would approach NSRP if they want to make changes so as to not impact their graduates. You would be welcome to check at any time with the university and NSRP at a future date to see if there have been any changes.
