Thank you for your prompt response. So just to be clear, this is a client that is returning for services after over two years, So this is not a “new client” to me, I guess I am wondering how you define “new client”.

I am a psychologist registered in Alberta, and have a request for an Alberta resident for services, however, this client will be flying back and forth between Alberta and Nova Scotia. I recognize I need to be registered in Nova Scotia if telehealth services were to take place while the client is in Nova Scotia. So, I am inquiring if I can get a courtesy temporary approval, or do I need to register as a full member

I would treat it as an existing client. Although we often use 2 years in many contexts, we don’t have a timeframe for existing vs. new clients so I’m fine to view it as existing.

To answer your question, for the provision of services via telepsychology to an existing client located in Nova Scotia, NSRP has temporarily suspended the requirement to complete the Courtesy Registry application process.

You send an email to notify NSRP via E-mail In this email, provide your Registration Number, Jurisdiction of Registration, and Contact Information, as soon as possible.

No application fee is required. After sending your information, you may begin services with clients as soon as is necessary; there is no need to wait to receive confirmation from NSRP before providing service. Please note that the above applies only to provision of telepsychology services to existing clients.
