I am currently contracted with True North Psychological Services but had to choose a psychologist from the drop down menu to act as a custodian of files. All of my files (electronic and paper) are at the office there or on their electronic database. She and I have concerns about listing her as a custodian, particularly in the event that she leaves the practice. Is there a way to list True North as the custodian of files? While the psychologist in private practice could stipulate that the session be done virtually, if they feel at risk, the client could decline the virtual session. More specifically, we want to make sure that providing CBT intervention for children and adolescents is considered a competency for MASP candidate registrants.

The NSBEP Supervision Handbook notes that a supervisor “should not be the employer or direct line supervisor of the candidate. Exceptions (e.g., rural settings or provision of highly specialized services) may be permitted but must be approved by the Board.”. How would I apply for consideration for this exception in order to provide some assessments through Bower-Jacquard Psychological services during my off times?I believe that this could be a reasonable course of action as having another person to support with the assessment caseload would reduce service wait times for clients. Additionally, I have completed much of my candidacy and we have a well-established rapport and track of progress, and this would provide a natural and mutually beneficial opportunity for even more close collaboration toward the end of the supervisory period. Weighing against potential conflicts of interest or power considerations, this work would be aside from my ongoing full-time employment, and I would therefore not be dependent upon my supervisor for essential economic security.

In terms of self-directed learning, is watching instructional videos on Youtube permitted? I am talking about videos that are posted by seemingly credible sources, such as the psychology department of a particular university, for example, or a video in which the presenter is regarded as a credentialled expert in the presentation content. If Youtube videos are okay for this purpose, it would be one point per hour of viewing, right?
