I have a question about this years registration renewal – I am actually retiring January 4 – I plan to keep my registration open for the time being and as such wondered about fee to submitnI am no longer practicing and will not be renewing my registration as a psychologist for the 2019 year. I understand that the NSBEP requires notice of retirement in writing, and I am asking that the NSBEP accept this email as my notice.
I have contacted Heather Power, Psychologist who is the custodian of my files however have not heard back from her as at this date.
I will contact insurance company BMS to advise them of my retirement.
I had a call from a person who has been seeing an ON psychologist. The patient has since moved to NS and would like to continue to see the psychologist thru skype. I was going to reply that the psychologist would either have to register in NS or barring that apply for a temporary registration until the patient could find a psychologist here in NS. Is there anything I am missing?

Non-Insured Health Benefits (NIHB) has many clinicians enrolled with our mental health program who provide services to Indigenous clients. A question came up recently that I am hoping you could help me with. What happens if a clinician/counsellor has their license revoked or has restrictions on their license but continues to practice? I am wondering if the NIHB program would be informed? Or, would we only know if we checked your website to see if the clinician/counsellor’s name was removed?

I received a conditional letter of offer from the Nova Scotia Rehabilitation and Arthritis Centre for a part-time health psychology position. When I applied to be on the candidate registrar, I indicated I would be working solely with a psychologist at Psychological Services Limited. I will continue to work with the private practice part-time but also anticipate working in the health region part-time. I am having trouble finding the paperwork online to update my employment.

I received this call for nominations for the 2020 elections and, in reading the criteria, had a question I hoped you could help me with. I am interested in becoming involved with the NSBEP board but I am a transfer registrant and only received my registration in October 2019. I was registered with the College of Alberta Psychologists before that, and in good standing, since 2011. Here are my questions: First, what happens if you have take time off the register for more than two years? I am looking to apply for a Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology. The program is through Fielding Graduate University. I am wondering if this program is recognized by NSBEP.

It would be good if you could ask to change the status from suspended to deceased. (FYI – If the status is changed to deceased it will only show as “no longer registered” if they are ever looked up in the public NSRP directory)
