In my role as Professional Practice Leader for Psychology I receive several consults related to psychology standards. My question is: what happens if a formal complaint is made about a psychologist who is no longer employed in Nova Scotia? Or no longer employed in Canada (but the complaint was generated from work done while here). I have recently fielded 2 consults where this was the issue. Does NSBEP still investigate the complaint? If it is investigated and is considered valid, does NSBEP notify the Board where the individual is currently registered?
The NSRP would still be in a position to address a complaint that involved allegations in NS even when a psychologist moves to another jurisdiction. Tax breakdown for registration fee
I don’t think they know much about registration fees for psychologists. You could let her know that there are no taxes on registration fees so no other version of receipt that could be provided.
I am looking for some clarification on whether reports should be co-signed. Specifically, assessments were completed by a Psychologist (Candidate Register) during full-time employment. Now that there is parental leave for the same Psychologist, the individual is no longer on the Candidate Register, but is still responsible for completing the assessment reports. Even if the person was on the Candidate Register at the time of assessment completion, would there now need to be a co-signing Psychologist in order to submit the outstanding reports, or can the person still independently sign as a Psychologist (Cand. Reg)?
Generally if one is on maternity leave and not on the Candidate Register because of this, NSRP would not expect them to be practicing, where they have chose to come off the Register. Hi again (sorry!),Can I please confirm something? If my school psychology program did not require a bachelor degree in psychology, am I then not eligible to register with the board no matter what, even if I have a bachelor’s in psychology? If the answer is just flat out no, then I can save myself the time of combing through my transcripts and adding course descriptions and filling out the rest of the registration. Then I can let the school board know I cannot work for them ever, too.
I’m checking with my university because I don’t remember if it did require it.

Would my supervisor reading a complete report count as direct observation? Would my supervisor watching me score protocols (example: WISC and WIAT) count as direct observation?
These activities would not be considered direct observation; however, they would still be considered valid methodologies for supervision.
